About Break Free
Break Free: Mental Health, Healing & Hope for Survivors is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering survivors of sexual assault through trauma-informed mental health support, community healing, and advocacy.
Our team of volunteers and partners believe that every survivor deserves a safe space to heal, reclaim their voice, and rebuild their life.
About the Mission:
Through therapy, support groups, alternative healing programs, and public education, we create safe and inclusive spaces where survivors can:
Heal on Their Own Terms – Offering one-on-one therapy, group support, and holistic healing approaches tailored to individual needs.
Reclaim Their Voices – Providing platforms for survivors to share their stories, connect with others, and advocate for change.
Access Essential Resources – Connecting survivors with legal, medical, and crisis support services to ensure comprehensive care.
Engage in Community & Advocacy – Educating the public, training professionals, and working toward systemic change to break the cycle of stigma and silence.
Our mission is to uplift, support, and stand beside survivors as they navigate their healing journeys—because no one should have to walk this path alone. Together, we can create a future where survivors are heard, valued, and empowered to thrive.
About our Vision:
Healing Without Barriers – Survivors should have access to affordable, trauma-informed therapy and support services.
Empowerment Through Community – We believe in the power of peer support, advocacy, and shared healing experiences.
Ending Stigma & Raising Awareness – Through education and outreach, we aim to change societal perceptions of sexual assault and trauma recovery.
A Future of Strength & Hope – Survivors deserve to not just survive but to thrive and live fulfilling lives free from shame and isolation.
About our Logo:
The Swallow – Swallows represent resilience, renewal, and the ability to find one's way home after adversity. Like survivors, they embody endurance and transformation in the face of hardship.
The Broken Cage – The broken or open cage signifies breaking free from trauma, shame, and societal stigma. It represents the moment a survivor steps into healing, empowerment, and self-liberation.
Flight & Movement – The soaring swallow reflects growth, progress, and the courage to move forward. It embodies the mission of Break Free—helping survivors heal, regain control, and embrace a future filled with hope.
Teal & Lavender Colors – These colors symbolize sexual assault awareness (teal) and mental health support (lavender), reinforcing Break Free’s commitment to advocacy and survivor-centered care.
The logo is a powerful reminder that survivors are not defined by their trauma, but by their strength to rise, heal, and BREAK FREE.
